Proud Cabaret. The name is probably familiar. With locations in the City, Brighton, and Camden, it is the premier name associated with burlesque and cabaret across the country. Alex Proud is the innovator and creator behind these venues, one of which is housed in the 200-year old Grade II Listed Horse Hospital. All three of them are featured at www.proudcabaret.com.

Alex has also rehabbed a landmark close to his hometown of Brighton. The Hanbury Ballroom received a phenomenal makeover from Mr. Proud, who later rolled it out as the Proud Cabaret Brighton and received accolades for opening the “retro supper club of the South.”

Alex Proud has his roots in the arts and entertainment from his original galleries, which have three locations across London, including Embankment, Chelsea, and Camden. These venues were used to bring accessible photography to the masses. Alex now holds the spotlight as a respected commentator on photographic and media issues; he receives local, regional, and national press coverage, and even received a characterization in the indie hit film CashBack starring Emilia Fox. He has also been honored to sit as a judge in the Nikon Press Awards.
